It came to my attention a few weeks ago, that the Liberty Hill Public Library is the ONLY source of DVD’s in the Liberty Hill Community. I hadn’t realized that our local video store had closed. This motivates me to spread the news that your local Library has over 1000 DVD’s available to check out for seven days for FREE. No cost. Zilch. How can you take advantage of this? Stop by and if you don’t have a library card, we will set you up with one. All you need is a photo ID with your current address. If you have recently moved, bring your photo ID along with something containing your name and address such as a bill or lease.
A game of “did you know” is coming on.
Did you know that your library has games for your Wii, Xbox and PlayStation? Not many, but we do have some. Again, a week check out at no cost.
Did you know that your library has a weekly storytime? Wednesdays at 10:30 am we conduct storytime in our library, complete with stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts. If your children are in a preschool in the Liberty Hill Community, chances are great they are already benefitting from our traveling storytime where Miss Sandy bring storytime to the schools.
Did you know that your library is available online? Visit our website at www.lhpl.org. You can browse our catalog and if you already have an account with us, you can reserve and renew books online, create booklists, IM me with questions. If you have a favorite author you follow and always want to know when their latest book arrives, you can easily set our reserve express system to be placed on the reserve list when the books arrive. We also are on Facebook, Twitter and flickr.
Did you know that we have six public access computers? We also have WiFi available 24 hours a day. When we are not open, you are welcome to sit outside the library, even in your car, and access the WiFi. We have had numerous comments from people who have been house hunting, doing online work for school, job searches, or completing and submitting reports for work about the convenience of our WiFi.
Did you know that we have the latest books on the New York Times bestsellers list? We stay up to date and often receive books prior to release dates so that they are available to our members on the day released in stores.
